According to the latest report by the network analyst firm Ookla, Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL), has delivered the fastest 4G speed in the January-March quarter. VIL offers telecom services under the label Vi and this is the third consecutive quarter in which the operator has been adjudged as the fastest 4G service provider on a pan-India basis.

According to the statement made by VIL, GIGAnet from Vi has been proved to have the fastest average 4G download speeds in the following 16 states: Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh. Vi has the fastest average 4G download speeds in 135 Indian cities, including the metros of Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Kolkata. Ravinder Takkar, Managing Director and CEO VIL stated that throughout the year, data consumption grew manifold putting telecom networks under enormous pressure. Vi extensively its enhanced network capacities and its network warriors confronted the challenges of lockdown and social distancing protocols ensuring that Vi customers get the best network experience, helping them stay ahead and grow.

Vi has doubled its network capacities and speed over the preceding two years with the help of a large spectrum portfolio, deployment of advanced technologies, and re-farming spectrum for 4G. Earlier in 2020, the companies launched GIGAnet, uniting both their 4G networks, following after the consolidation of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular under a single brand Vi.
