The famous messenger WhatsApp is rolling out a new 'Cart' feature on its platform to make it easier for users to purchase products. This new feature is an upgrade to the shopping button feature, which was announced last month. It was intended to make people discover a business' catalog more easily, to know what goods or services are offered by the business.

Users can visit any business catalog present on WhatsApp, they can start a conversation with the 'Message Business' feature, or use the ‘Add to Cart’ button to place an order for a product within the catalog. The shopping icon is accessible from a chat or business profile of the business from which users want to order their product. Furthermore, from there, they can tap on the shopping button icon, which is listed next to the name to access their catalog. Once the catalog opens, they can simply tap on the product and click on ‘Add to Cart’ to place an order. Also, users can tap the Message Business option to ask a specific question regarding the product. This new feature is being rolled out to users globally.

According to an announcement made by WhatsApp in a blog post “With carts, people can browse a catalog, select multiple products and send the order as one message to the business. This will make it simpler for businesses to keep track of order inquiries, manage requests from customers, and close sales.”
